Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.

Erica is a futurist who studies long-term global trends in social, technological, and economic sectors to predict what’s upcoming. Through public speaking, authoring books, and her white-paper work at Future Hunters, Erica strives to create a world where imagination and rationality exist in harmony and abundance. She teaches people how to learn and unlearn, how to perceive the world around them so that they can see around corners and be free from the constant stress of “what’s next.”

From Erica’s lips / fingertips:

“What brought me to Natalie and Nina is they did my branding shoot and headshots. When they were creating Embolden, I was at this inflection point. We’re a family business called The Future Hunters, and my husband is my business partner. But my brand, Erica Orange, was growing faster than the rest of the business. I didn’t have a strategy behind this, I didn’t really have my own branding. My book from conception to birth was literally nine months, so I didn't have a lot of time to work on any of the marketing or the brand strategy. That’s what brought me to these amazing women.

“I came to Natalie the last week of July and was like “September 18th my book is coming out.” She's like “Oh shit! We've got to get moving here.’ She helped me with all the brand colors and made this book pop.

Nina and Natalie are obviously so smart about what it is that they do; but they're also hand-holding and so supportive. They would even text me, ‘You've got this, you're doing a great job, we're here.’ They were so available.

“With Nina I'm like, ‘oh my god I feel like such an old lady. How do I start on Instagram?’ and she's like, ‘you're doing it! I've got you. I will put everything into a little tutorial.’ It was very methodical so that I didn't feel overwhelmed. They’d ask, ‘Is this too much? Do we need to scale back? Do what you're comfortable doing.’

“I also loved my first meeting with Natalie which was basically like meeting with a therapist. It was like a full therapy session and she’s asking, ‘Can you tell me about your childhood and your deepest insecurities?’ I’m like, ‘Oh! Ok we’re going to go there.’

I was a hundred percent ready to start this marketing journey. I was still operating the way that I was doing business 20 years ago, so I was to the point of let’s freaking go. My only negative was the fact that I didn’t do this years ago. But I can't dwell on that, at least I’m doing this now.”

Featured Element // Social Media Strategy

The Problem:
Erica hadn’t yet built a social media strategy for herself. She didn’t have a presence on Instagram and primarily posted to LinkedIn. Her main way of marketing was through word of mouth at her speaking engagements. She also struggled with making her brand more accessible to her audience when the material she’s sharing is dense and difficult to understand.

The Solution: We gave Erica tips on how to start posting to Instagram and LinkedIn with poppy, straightforward, and engaging content. She began extracting powerful snippets from longer talks and posting graphics we designed for her to the platforms. She also utilizes her unique position as a young woman in an older and male dominated field to access a new audience that’s searching for her voice. The intriguing content paired with a cohesive online appearance gave viewers a little sneak peak of the treat they’re in for when they buy Erica’s book.

Featured Element // Branding Shoot, Headshots, and Book Release Event Coverage

The problem:
Erica had headshots and a branding shoot previously done by Embolden’s predecessor company, NSP, which included portraits of Erica posed and working candidly. However, with her new book, AI + The New Human Frontier, coming out- Erica needed some images of her with the book to use for promotional tools.

The Solution: We photographed Erica’s launch party to give her more book-central photos that can be used for building the buzz around her upcoming release. We also plan to do another branding session that includes AI + The New Human Frontier for additional marketing materials. (you can never have too many options!)
